Why use conformal coating?
Conformal coatings are thin-layer coating or film(tens to hundreds µm thick ) to protect printed circuits or other electronic substrates. The conformal coatings promote extended service life and enhanced reliability for your PCB components and assemblies.
? Its purpose is to protect electronic print circuits from harsh environments that may contain high humidity, contaminants and varying temperatures,to avoid short circuits and corrosion of conductors and solder joints.
? It can minimizes metal dendrite growth and electromigration between the conductors. It also provides stress relief while protecting the insulation of the board.
? It also protect circuits and components from wear and solvents. Preventing corrosion and mold.
Conventional use of conformal coatings is by dipping, spraying or simple brush, and now more and more selective spraying or automatic dispensing equipment are used.
